Exploring the Source

EFG Books and Gallery
Bridgton, Maine

March 4, 2010

This open mic reading was the seventh in the Exploring the Source series. Lisa Moore started us out with a found poem called Texas Taboos-a found poem: topics forbidden on Texas Reading tests. She continued with a reminiscing poem entitled The Guitar Lesson that is sure to elicit fond remembrances of the 60s and 70s. She finished with 3 short poems which included some recent work. Judy Torrico, a newcomer to the series, recited a personal poem with an intimate candor. Sharon Smith Abbott returned with several poems including a scenic journey in Winter Landscapes. Eric Dibner began by reciting the words of Les Kaye, a zen priest, that resonated fully with many of us. Then he sang/recited in his characteristic way a variety of poems including Listen and What She Wants. Margie Jansz concluded the reading with a few of her thoughtful poems, including a humorous poem about the Great-Tailed Grackle bird.
