Exploring the Source
EFG Books and GalleryBridgton, Maine March 4, 2010
This open mic reading was the seventh in the Exploring the Source series. Lisa Moore started us out with a found poem called Texas Taboos-a found poem: topics forbidden on Texas Reading tests. She continued with a reminiscing poem entitled The Guitar Lesson that is sure to elicit fond remembrances of the 60s and 70s. She finished with 3 short poems which included some recent work. Judy Torrico, a newcomer to the series, recited a personal poem with an intimate candor. Sharon Smith Abbott returned with several poems including a scenic journey in Winter Landscapes. Eric Dibner began by reciting the words of Les Kaye, a zen priest, that resonated fully with many of us. Then he sang/recited in his characteristic way a variety of poems including Listen and What She Wants. Margie Jansz concluded the reading with a few of her thoughtful poems, including a humorous poem about the Great-Tailed Grackle bird. 186 Main Street - Bridgton, ME 04009 | (207) 647-9339 | info@efgbooks.com | OPEN Tuesday - Saturday 10-5 PM |
